Sorry, I found some more errors and wanted to send this. It's as close to the lyrics of "Baby It's Cold Outside" as I could figure:
[HER:] [HIM]
I really can't stay But, baby, it's cold outside
I've got to go 'way But, baby, it's cold outside
This evening has been Been hoping that you'd drop in
so very nice I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice!
My mother will start to worry Beautiful, whats your hurry?
and father will be pacing the floor Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry. Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well, maybe just a half a drink more Put some records on while I pour
The neighbors might think Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink? No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how Your eyes are like starlight now
to break the spell I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no sir Mind if I move in closer?
At least I'm gonna say that I tried What's the sense of hurtin' my pride?
I really can't stay Oh, baby, don't hold out
Ah but it's cold outside Baby, it's cold outside.
I simply must go But, baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no But, baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been How lucky that you dropped in
so nice and warm Look out that window at that storm!
My sister will be suspicious Gosh, your lips look delicious
my brother will be there at the door waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious Ooh, your lips are delicious
Well, maybe just a cigarette more Never such a blizzard before
I got to get home But, baby, you'd freeze out there!
Say, lend me a comb It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand I thrill when you touch my hand
But don't you see? How can you do this thing to me???
There's bound to be talk tomorrow Think of my lifelong sorrow
at least there will be plenty implied if you caught pneumonia and died...
I really can't stay Get over that hold-out
[TOGETHER]
Ah, but it's cold outside!

I have a tape with the song "Baby it's cold outside". It says that
it is song by Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting. I couldn't find it on your
song list. I am trying to find out if the song is from a movie and if so, which
one. Any info would be appreciated
Baby It's Cold Outside...was made famous by Johnny
Mercer and Margaret Whiting. Johnny Mercer did not write
it. The words and Music are By Frank Loesser.
From the MGM film(1949)"Neptune's Daughter" STARRING Red Skelton and
Esther Williams.
In addition to being a songwriter Johnny Mercer also
was a very popular singer, often singing the works of
other lyricists.

This song was heard on the radio by my father about a year ago, and I
am desperately trying to locate it for him. I bought him the Ray
Charles/Betty
Carter version, but he said that it's not the version he remembers
hearing. Any information anyone has that may help me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Darlene

There are several versions of 'Baby, It's Cold Outside', but the
Charles/Carter is probably the best. Try: Dean Martin; Louis Armstrong
('Satchmo'); Diane Reeves/Lou Rawls (Blue Note 1995, 724383212729); Elle
Fitzgerald ('Priceless Jazz Collection 22: More Ella Fitzgerald': GRP
label, GRBD-9916) - know of others? B.N. in London, UK

The most famous version of this Frank Loesser song is by Margaret
Whiting as a Duet with Johnny Mercer.
To find it take a look at the menu at:
http://www.johnnymercer.com/intro/intro.htm
and use your Browsers "edit" key to search under "Baby
It's Cold Outside" -once you are in the correct section of this 35
page list.
It was so cold two days ago, that Margaret's words were reverberating
in my head, whenever the weather people said "It's Cold
Outside"!!

I agree, Ella & Louis should have recorded that song. Rosemary
Clooney should record taught song with Mel Torme,
since they both have recording contracts with Concord Records.

Great to see the lyrics - I've been trying to remember them
for a while. Can anyone tell me the name of the movie the song
first appeared in? I have a vague recollection that it has (of
all people) Ricardo Montalban.

Maybe someone answered your query, but the movie was
"Neptune's Daughter." Ricardo Montalban was in it, but
Baby It's Cold Outside was sung by Red Skelton and Esther
Williams. I've been trying to track down a recording of the song
with Blossom Dearie & Bob Dorough. Anybody know where I can
find it?

I've read that Mercer did a duet of "Baby,
It's Cold Outside"
Does anyone have the Lyric for this song?
