CANDY was written by Mack David, Joan Whitney and Alex Kramer. It is often attributed to Johnny Mercer, as he made the song famous. In fact he did not write it, just sang it, Very Big hit. Johnny was a singer in his own right, and primarily recorded tunes of other writers and musicians.

The original recoding was Captiol Record #183(78RPM) and has been reissued on many, many CD's.

Suggest that you check the "Muze" systen at your local music chop or try an online service like cdconnection.com or cdnow.com, musicblvd.com or any other.

Hi, I have been looking for this song called "CANDY" every since I heard it on the Cosby Show many years ago. I want to know two things; Is this the song I heard on said show, and if so, where can I purchase a copy. Preferably on vinyl please.

These were both huge hits for Johnny, as a performer. He did not write either tune.
