Suggest that you pick up a copy of TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS, the Magic of
Johnny Mercer. Warner#SF0130, page 83,$22.95. I Remember You appears on page 83.
If you are looking for a original copy be in touch with Tom Maturo at: http://camaturo.hypermart.net/
Wayland Bunnell (Wtarrytown@aol.com
199 Tarrytown Road, Manchester, NH 03103..also has thousands of
original pieces for sale.
Tom and Wayland are excellent sources..I buy from both of them on a regular
basis..music from all of the songwriters.
Johnny and Victor Schertzinger wrote this piece for The Fleet's In with
Dorithy Lamour, Jimmy Dorsey,Betty Hutton,Eddie Bracken and Bill Holden. The
film is available on video.

A group of fairly talented singers gets together periodically for a
"cabaret" of musical selections. For our next one, we're doing a
salute to Johnny Mercer. One tune that we wish to do is "I Remember
You." If someone could let me know where the music and lyrics might be available,
I'd be most appreciative. Thank you

Was it Tahiti? Were we on the Nile. Long, Long ago, say an hour or
so I recall that I saw your smile. I remember you, You're the one who
made my dreams come true. A few kisses ago. I remember you, you're the
one who said : "I love you too," I do, didn't you know? I
remember too, a distant bell, And stars that fell like rain, out of the
blue. When my life is thru And the angels ask me to recall The thrill of
them all, Then I shall tell them I remember you. you.
