Everyone may already know about tihs...but I'll share it again for newcomers: I found a great LP in a vintage record store entitled "An Evening with Johnny Mercer" recorded live at New York's 92nd Street Y in March'71. Great notes, pix and JM scatting and chatting thru bits/pieces of 30 or more classics. Margaret Whiting and Roberts Sands assist. This is a "Must" for Mercernarians. Laureate Records...LL601. Part of the "Lyrics and Lyricists" Series. Well worth searching for.

The CD is issued by DRG in New York City. You can either call them directly or order it through your local music store/or online services such as cdnow.com or cdconnection.com etc.

These are all seperate CD's.(Mercer-Lerner-Cahn)..also DRG sells some of these on Video..unfortunately the Mercer session at the YMHA in NYC(1971) was not professionally videotaped, and is therefore not available on videotape.

I've been searching for the lyrics to this unpublished piece which was recorded on "An Evening with Johnny Mercer". On the recording he only sang the last verse but discussed the previous verses. Any help in tracking these down would be greatly appreciated!

I finally found the name of the CD I was looking for on
the Johnny Mercer home page. It's entitled "An Evening
With Johnny Mercer" DRG #5176

Does anyone know how I may obtain it? Thanks for any
help!

Mercer is at the piano chatting about his career and doing a medley of his songs. Margaret Whiting sings "I'm Old Fashioned" among others. Can you please give me the place and some background on the event?
Your website is great....befitting a wonderful talent. Thank you. Sam

I understand a soundtrack to the movie Midnight is to be released
with recordings by Johnny Mercer. Is this true? How may I obtain it if so?

Is Night Blues on the CD?

I just ordered the CD at about $14.
Fourteen tracks. Warner Bros. CD.
Check online vendors.
