Does anybody know if/when/where Margaret Whiting currently sings? I'm planning a trip east and would love to see her, being a big fan of her dad's and his collaborators' music. Rainbow & Stars in Manhattan, where she was performing, has discontinued its cabaret. Hopefully she has another venue?

Approximately one year ago Maggie was walking down The street in New York City, where she lives, and Stepped into a pothole (a hole in the pavement). She seriously injured herself and required Hospitalization and intense physical therapy.

This has curtailed her abilities to get about, Of course this also lead to a much curtailed Performance schedule. Last month she was at Danny's Skylight, for a performance with Lew Spence, late last year There was a very, very well attended performance At Town Hall (in New York City). I also seem to recall her appearing at Linclon Center, I probably am missing several dates that I am not aware of. On Monday Nite (April 5th) she Was also at the MAC Awards in New York City.

So, at this time, there is no regular venue that I can direct you to. So while in New York City, you may very Well catch her!

Maggie is just the best! And certainly the finest interpreter of Johnny's music after all, they were very good friends!

: Last month I interviewed Margaret Whiting. She made reference to an activity that she's closely involved in, which I believe is a foundation to establish a JM museum and also to provide assistance to budding songwriters. Do I have my facts right? I'm doing an article on Margaret and don't want to misquote her.
_______________-

Margaret has been interpreting the poetry of
Mercer, ever since she was a teenager.
Her dad, Richard A. Whiting, frequently
collaborated with Johnny, and their pieces
are legendary.

In addition to a very active performing schedule,
Margaret is also the President of the
Johnny Mercer Foundation.
