Ever since I was a
child and I first heard Audrey Hepburn sing to the song
"Moon River" I was hooked. I believe that this song
has to be one of the greatest and most heart-tugging songs for
me. Every time I hear Johnny Mercer's music it brings a feeling
over me that I cannot describe, other than a feeling of
"home". As a native Georgian myself, Savannah has
always been one of my favorite places to visit, it holds a
special magic that no one else knows about if they have never
been there. |

I first became
aware of Johnny when I saw his picture in Eddie Condon's book -
We Called It Music - which I bought in 1948.I think he is one of
the greatest lyricists who ever lived and he also had a
wonderful singing voice. |

I recently was in
Savannah and saw Johnny Mercer Blvd. and surfed around to find a
biography to see if the street was indeed named for this great
songwriter. My never-ending love and respect for the music of
Johnny Mathis introduced me to Mr. Mercer. I am too young to
have experienced his music as it was introduced to the public,
but as a "second generation Mathis fan" (SGMF)I am
enjoying his talent now. |

I love
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, I have ever since I first saw
it when I was very young (7, maybe younger, I'm 24 now),
although it's not a very politically correct movie, I still find
it very 'romantic'. Not that I would of appreciated being
kidnapped, but we all know it's only a movie.
