I have spent about 20 hours searching the net for the lyrics to "wait and see" It seems that the availability of lyrics for private use on the net has all but dried up. Too bad.

I have searched for new information on Mercer for at least ten years. i have spoken to a friend of his and i have written to his widow, but I cant understand why it is so difficult to find vidio of Johnny Mercer.

Skater Scott Hamilton has a skating routine that he does to Accentuate the Positive. Is shown on Tara Lipinski's new TV special. Was excellent! First time I heard that song and it just clicked with me, needed to find the lyrics. Found them here! Thanks!

What a wonderful site, and an excellent tribute to the greatest lyricist of ANY generation. I'm in the process of putting together a fan website for the syndicated radio show, "BIG BAND JUMP", and this site is the first link to be added in "The ULTIMATE Big Band Weblink Page!"...although, quite frankly, Mr. Mercer's songs transcend all eras. (Right now, I'm attempting to locate a tape of the BBJ 2-hr. tribute to Mr. Mercer from the fall of 1996 or 97.) Again, well done, and continued success. Best wishes, Lee M. I named my daughter, Laura, after the theme from the wonderful 1945 film with Gene Tierney, Clifton Webb, Dana Andrews and Vincent Price.I have travelled to Savannah to the Johhny Mercer exhibits and to thank his memory for the beauty of his songs.

Learning more about Johnny Mercer has been fascinating for us. We are residents also of Georgia so it makes us feel closer to home too!

I have followed Johnny's career over many decades and I consider him to be THE popular songwriter of the twentieth century. While there are many songwriters that come close he shines above them all. He understands the common man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really great site; and I'm a Mercer fan from the first time I ever heard him on radio. Then when he started Capitol Records he became my idol. I have old Cap black label 78's galore. Again congrats on making such a great collection of JM's songs.

My Aunt Louise will be turning 80 soon and requested the lyrics to "Blues In the Night"...I thought I could find it here. I was amazed at the number of hit songs Mercer wrote.

Johny Mercer's songs seemed to be an extension of his personality. His low times and high times and the between times. Consider "Blues in the night", "Jeepers Creepers",Lets Go Cuddle in a Corner" and as you know he had many other greag songs. There is a melody that lingers in my mind but I do not remember the words. If you can refresh my memory the song is "Santa Claus Came In the Spring". Long Live Mercer's gift to us>

I forgot to mention earlier, anyone really interested in reading a great book about Johnny, get "Our Huuckleberry Friend: The life, times and lyrics of Johnny Mercer. I was able to order it through Barnes & Noble. Keep up the good work on this site.

Im sitting here listening to my absolute favorite album, Two OF A Kind with Johnny and Bobby Darin, Fantastic, you can just hear the fun they had recording this session. Its hard to believe how many songs johnny wrote and sang.

Paul Whiteman knew talent. To have had Johnny Mercer, Jack Teagarden and Bix in his orchestra was inspiring. Johnny never met a melody that could'nt be improved by a proper lyric. May his memory last for a thousand years!

I was asked by a friend to establish who wrote the soundtrack to Apache (the film). It would appear that it was written by Mercer/Ruskin I cannot find out if there is a soundtrack album - my search continues. Your site was extreemly useful and easy to understand. Thanks

I've always loved the lyrics written by Johnny Mercer. But over the last couple decades I have wandered off into other styles and had forgotten what truly beautiful songs came from the hallowed halls of Savannah. I have recently had the good fortune to become re-introduced to Johnnys world. sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
